About Robert
Robert Sherman is a Correspondent for NewsNation whose reporting has taken him across the globe.
Robert has been on the forefront of some of the world's biggest stories. He has spearheaded NewsNation's coverage of the war in the Middle East since the October 7th attack, and also was one of the first reporters inside Ukraine during the Russian invasion. Having spent extensive time in Israel, Gaza, the West Bank, the Red Sea, Bahrain, Ukraine, and Poland, Robert has a deep understanding of the conflicts taking place across the globe and is able to give viewers an up-close perspective as they unfold. He was the only American network reporter to speak with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy ahead of the highly anticipated summit in Alaska between President Trump and President Putin of Russia.
Additionally, he spent a month in Rome, Italy covering the death of Pope Francis, the subsequent papal conclave and the election of the first American pope, Pope Leo XIV. Mr. Sherman garnered international attention when he shook hands with the new Pope and asked him if he had a message to send to the United States which went viral.
When not on an international assignment, he spends the majority of his time at the White House covering the Trump administration. He has flown aboard Air Force One with the 47th President and asked questions to heads of state from inside the Oval Office.
Prior to joining the NewsNation team, Robert worked for Fox News Channel as a Multimedia Reporter based in Orlando, Florida. There, he spent two years traveling around the country covering the nation's biggest stories including six hurricanes, the Derek Chauvin trial, the Georgia Senate Runoffs in 2020, the 2021 Virginia Gubernatorial Election, wildfires in California, the US-Mexico border crisis and more.
In addition to television, Robert is a frequent contributor to radio programs across the country including several nationally syndicated shows. You'll also find him as a guest on several podcasts as he shares his experiences with listeners.
Robert attended DePauw University in Indiana, where he graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Economics. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio.
